Collaboration

over Competition

NewsLab is designed to strengthen local civic information through partnership.

Rather than attempting to replace existing journalism organizations, NewsLab works collaboratively with media outlets, schools, libraries, and community organizations to expand public access to local information.

This work includes:

  • Community reporting initiatives

  • Student journalism opportunities

  • Public meeting documentation

  • Civic explainers and public education

  • Audio and video storytelling

  • Experiments in AI-assisted civic information systems
